Painting outdoors is both a joy and a challenge. You are immersed in the landscape, at the mercy of the weather and always carrying too much stuff. My practice involves walking outdoors, usually with an impatient dog or two, making some quick sketches, taking photos and above all taking in the atmosphere of the area. When I return to the studio, I enjoy making a series of chracoal sketches trying to capture aspects of the walk. These black and white images form the basis of the oil painting which may follow. Using black and white images allows me to be more free in my choice of colours.

My website gives a snapshot into some of my current projects and collections made a while ago. Some of the work is for sale and some has gone to its forever home. I do have a selection of work at my studio and also in my local gallery @talentgallery.co.uk where the owner Nina represents me. Do contact me via my conatct page if any of the work is of interest to you.
