Evening Glow through the trees

With so few trees on Exmoor, it is always great to appreciate their beauty. The Exmoor landscape is captured in this little oil painting. The deep autumn tones of the bracken and the greens of the gorse with low lights shimmering through the trees on the horizon. This impressionist painting takes its inspiration from the works of J.M.W. Turner and more recent work by Joan Eardley. Painted primarily using a palette knife and rags, Annie is able to imply and infer the textures of the landscape with deft strokes and mark making.
