Moody Skies Over Gammon Head

This oil painting of Gammon Head was made after a walk along the south-west coast path after crossing the estuary by ferry from Salcombe. The gathering clouds towards the end of the day and the resultant effect on the water add to this atmospheric painting. Annie takes her inspiration from the works of J.M.W. Turner and more recent work by Joan Eardley. Increasingly Annie is taking risks with her paintings and developing a more dynamic style akin to Jill Eisele and David Tress. Painted primarily using a palette knife and rags, Annie is able to imply and infer the textures of the landscape and the shadows on the water with deft strokes and mark making.

It is 50 x 50 cm on a deep box canvas and available unframed for £350 including UK mainland p and p. It is now available directly from the artist from her Studio Gallery. Visits by appointment. If you are interested please contact Annie for further information. Details can be found on her contacts page. Further seascapes can be found on her Sea page.
